Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Marcello Carminati is a plastic surgeon at Life Clinic.
In 1985 he graduated with honors in Medicine from the University of Pavia, and in 1990 he specialized in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the same university.
After his studies, he was early employed in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Ospedali Riuniti in Bergamo, with a stint between 2001 and 2003 as Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at San Matteo Hospital in Pavia.
In 2004, he returned to Bergamo and remained at Pope John XXIII Hospital with a series of highly specialized assignments; in 2021, he obtained the official position of Department Director.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Carminati has gained significant clinical and surgical experience, having conducted more than 11,000 surgeries as the first operator.
Dr. Carminati has perfected his professional experience by participating in numerous internships in the most important European Plastic Surgery departments (London, Paris, Brussels, Maastricht, Helsinki, etc.) and organizing several congresses and events.
He has authored and co-authored more than 110 scientific publications and presentations published in the most significant international journals.
He is Tutor of "Research Electives," a major educational-scientific collaboration project with Maastricht University (NL).
He is a lecturer in the School of Medicine and Surgery, the graduate course in English resulting from a collaboration between ASST Pope John XXIII and the University of Milan-Bicocca, Bergamo and Surrey.
Dr. Carminati has also been a lecturer at the Advanced Master of Cosmetic Surgery at the University of Pavia. And finally, he is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Pavia.
Dr. Carminati's major specializations are breast surgery, reconstructive and cosmetic facial surgery and facial rejuvenation, body contouring (liposculptures, lipostructures), microsurgical reconstructions, and new laser technologies.
